Our bilingual primary school in Rheinfelden (near Basel) offers children a full-day education in German and English. In core subjects such as German, Mathematics, and French, we consistently follow the cantonal guidelines and use the corresponding teaching materials. This ensures high educational quality as well as maximum flexibility for school transitions.

Exams and graduation after the Bilingual Primary School

Exams and performance (Check Tests)

Our students can voluntarily take the cantonal Check Tests in Grades 3 and 5, provided they have sufficient German skills. These standardized tests provide an objective assessment and a direct comparison with the public-school systems in the Cantons of Aargau, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, and Solothurn.

Recognized graduation and transfer

Completion of Grade 6 (PY6) is officially recognized by the Department of Education of the Canton of Aargau. The transfer to the appropriate school level (Bezirksschule, Sekundarschule, or Realschule) is based on individual recommendations, analogous to the public system. Many students successfully move to public schools, while others continue their education in our bilingual Secondary School I.

Flexible and international transitions

Thanks to close alignment with the cantonal curriculum and the use of identical teaching materials in core subjects, transfer to the public system is always possible. Students also benefit from international perspectives and have successfully transferred to schools worldwide, including Europe, Asia, and Australia.
